Pedro snubs Manchester United, arrives London for Chelsea medical

Pedro Rodriguez is close to agreeing a deal with Chelsea, after the Barcelona winger arrived in London for medicals.

According to Spanish newspaper, Marca, the Blues have met Pedro’s buy-out clause of £21.4m and are close to completing the transfer.

Until now, Manchester United are firm favourites to land the 28-year-old and their chief executive, Ed Woodward, flew to Spain to try and wrap up the deal. However, the Red Devils were reluctant to pay the required fee.
Chelsea have now hijacked the deal and are ready to make Pedro their third major signing of this summer, after the arrivals of Radamel Falcao and Asmir Begovic.
