Dr Stella Adadevoh, Nigeria’s ‘Ebola Doctor’ died on August 19, 2014, after contracting the disease in an attempt to keep index patient, Patrick Sawyer confined to the First Consultants Hospital in Lagos where she worked.
Her actions saved many Nigerians from what would have been a catastrophic epidemic.
The disease infected 21 persons and claimed 9 lives before Nigeria was declared Ebola-free on October 20. Read reactions to the first anniversary of Adadevoh’s death below:
